Maxwell Empire Scripted Book 3 Chapter 1
Dad and Davey discuss a tour
DAVEY
Dad, you need to take a look at this advertisement.
DAD
What is that, Davey. Not a party planner.
DAVEY
No, Dad. I do not need help to design a great Celebration of Life for you even if we are going to have dozens of them.
DAD
Well, just hope we do have dozens of them.
DAVEY
This one is a reminder that sea levels are still rising and we should visit places before they sink below the waves.
DAD
So, what is this advert Davey?
DAVEY
See, it is here.
Going, going, gone
Get to see the world before it sinks.
Sea levels keep rising.
More tourist attractions are going under water.
You have missed out on seeing Venice above water.
And the Netherlands has gone.
See our website for what is next.
Let us fly you there soon.
Or your visit will be in a submersible.
DAD
Well, Davey. That definitely suggests a visit. But to where?
DAVEY
London is under water but they are moving Westminster Abbey at present.
DAD
How come it isn’t sunk?
DAVEY
They put a wall around it but they have decided the water won’t stop and are moving it.
DAD
So, would you go all the way to England just to see the Abbey moved?
DAVEY
No, Dad. There is still a lot of England above water, even though a lot has sunk.
DAD
Do you plan a weekend trip or longer?
DAVEY
We could take the rocket to London, look at the Abbey being moved, then do a submersible tour of London, before seeing Stonehenge.
DAD
You need to make an itinerary for the trip, Davey. Then we see if we can get hotels. June is a popular month for visiting England.
DAVEY
Well, Sherwood Forest is still above water, and Nottingham. Cambridge has sunk but Oxford is above water.
DAD
I would like to see the Lakes District again. I went there years ago.
DAVEY
Bits of it have sunk but most is still above water.
DAD
Good. I hope you can see William Wordsworth’s homes. I would not like them to be sunk.
DAVEY
Well, Dad. I would like to see Chester but some of it is under water.
DAD
You will need to contact that tour mob and get more information, Davey. Or I suppose it will all be online if you look.
DAVEY
It will be easier to ask them. I will phone them when they are at work.
DAD
Yes. I guess the ten hour time difference means they are asleep.
DAVEY
I think we will need more than a weekend, Dad.
DAD
That looks to be at least a week already and you have not started. Just wait a minute. Joan! Joan!
MUM
What is it, Warren?
DAD
Davey wants us to go to England for a month.
MUM
A month! What does he want to do?
DAD
He is making an itinerary to show you. But should we take my dad?
MUM
He would love to go with us but he will want to know what it is for. Ask him but tell him he will get the details later.
DAD
What if you give him a call, Joan? He would like to be asked by you.
MUM
Davey, when are you planning for us to go?
DAVEY
I want to go as soon as possible, Mum. I will phone the tour company tomorrow.
MUM
No, you make an itinerary, Davey, and show it to us before you ring anyone. We and your Grandpa will need to agree with your ideas.
DAVEY
Good, Mum. I will get onto it right away.
